Ericsson is looking for a Domain Support Specialist – Transmission (IP & Microwave Engineer) to join their Bangalore team. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless planning, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of IP and microwave transmission networks.
As part of Ericsson’s innovative telecom operations, you will work closely with RAN, Core, and Transport teams to guarantee smooth end-to-end service delivery across the mobile network, including supporting rollout projects such as 5G backhaul and site migrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot IP/MPLS transmission links and microwave radio links (PDH/SDH/Ethernet).
- Support commissioning, integration, and acceptance testing of transmission nodes (Huawei, NEC, Ericsson).
- Collaborate with field teams and vendors for fault restoration.
- Perform capacity planning and monitor transmission KPIs for optimal performance.
- Implement routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and QoS policies.
- Align with network designs and support Low-Level Design (LLD) creation for new projects.
- Analyze faults and alarms using NMS tools (U2000, NetAct) and escalate when required.
- Maintain transmission records, inventory, and topology maps.
- Participate in planned maintenance and on-call support.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams during rollouts and upgrades.

Requirements:
To apply for this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
- 1–5 years of experience in the Transmission IP & Microwave domain.
- Strong knowledge of IP fundamentals, routing, and switching.
- Experience with microwave vendors (Ericsson Minilink, NEC).
- Understanding of Ethernet, E1, SDH, PDH, and SyncE protocols.
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (U2000, NetAct) and ticketing systems (e.g., Remedy).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
